Speakers > Tim Op De Beéck
Being sidelined by an ACL injury in 2011, Tim got really interested in injury prevention and rehabilitation. For his master thesis at the KU Leuven computer science department, he seized the opportunity to analyze injury data of pro soccer players using machine learning techniques. This thesis grew into a PhD where Tim developed novel data science techniques to analyze training load and movement quality of both pro and recreational athletes using wearable sensors. Tim co-founded Runeasi as he believes that wearable technology can offer an affordable solution to coaches and physios to support their evidence-based decision-making. As Runeasi's CTO, Tim believes that A.I. in combination with correct data analysis techniques can leverage the similarities between athletes to provide actionable and individual insights.
