Target audience

  • Researchers in computer science/mathematics/signals processing.

  • Researcher in sports/physical sciences/movement sciences, sports professionals (coaches, athletes, sports books employees).

Prerequisites

Knowledge of statistical methods, as well as automated data analysis (data mining, machine learning) will facilitate the understanding of the methods introduced, but is not essential. Each thematic session will introduce the concepts necessary to understand the rest of the course. A good sports culture is essential.

Expected results

  • Transfer of methods and techniques: participants will encounter the state of the art in analysing complex sports data.
  • Community building: the school will give participants the opportunity to meet other researchers and practitioners with similar interests, but different perspectives.
  • Research development support: allowing analysts to open up to sports data providers and athletes (both professional and amateur) to move towards automating the analysis of their data.
